Channel notifications

You can configure desktop, mobile, and email notifications on a channel by channel basis.

Configure notifications for a single channel

These settings will override any default channel notification settings. In muted channels, channel notification settings apply only to unmuted topics.

  1. Hover over a channel in the left sidebar.

  2. Click on the ellipsis ().

  3. Click Channel settings.

  4. Select the Personal tab on the right.

  5. Under Notification settings, toggle your preferred notifications settings for the channel.

  1. Press and hold a channel until the long-press menu appears.

  2. Tap Channel settings.

  3. Toggle Notifications.

If you are in a channel view, you can access the channel settings menu from the information (information) button in the top right corner of the app.

Configure default notifications for all channels

These settings only apply to channels where you have not explicitly set a notification preference.

  1. Click on the gear () icon in the upper right corner of the web or desktop app.

  2. Select Personal settings.

  3. On the left, click Notifications.

  4. In the Notification triggers table, toggle the settings for Channels.

  1. Tap your profile picture in the bottom right corner of the app.

  2. Tap Settings.

  3. Tap Notifications.

  4. Toggle Channel notifications to configure mobile push notifications for channel messages.
